Thu May 9, 2024 - Photography Equipment Garage Sale (5-7 PM)
Do you have old camera bags, cameras, lenses or other photography paraphernalia that you don’t use any more? Are you interested in picking up a used lens or tripod for a reasonable price – if so, the second annual IACC garage sale might be for you! It is open to IACC members only. It will be held 5-7 PM at the Club meeting hall immediately before the May Presentation Night.

Guest Speaker: Jacquie Matechuk
Jacquie Matechuk, MPA, is a Canon Canada Ambassador and recognized as Nature Photographer of the Year (2023). While Jacquie is renown for her photographic diversity, she’s fueled by her commitment to conservation and ethical photography practices. In this presentation she will share some of her go-to photographic techniques, provide useful tips on trouble shooting in the field, and show us some of her amazing photos.
Member Showcase: Kristian Wolowidnyk presents "Finding Purpose I Thought I'd Lost"
Paul Burwell Memorial Scholarship winner Kristian Wolowidnyk says, "Once I took my first photos, I knew that the camera was going to be a instrument to change my life's current trajectory and get me back on track. My future goals and aspirations are to continue building my photographic skill set, and to apply it to documentary photography and photojournalism. I recently joined the Images Alberta Camera Club and look forward to being involved with them going forward."
Sat May 11, 2024 - Outing to Ben Calf Robe Pow Wow (Noon - 6 PM)

WHERE: Clarke Stadium
WHAT: Annual Edmonton Pow Wow is a great opportunity to photograph participants in full regalia, dancing competitions, Grand Entry ceremony. Information will be provided to registered attendants so they know the proper photography etiquette for the event. More details available in the Outing registration form.

WHAT: Annual Edmonton Pow Wow is a great opportunity to photograph participants in full regalia, dancing competitions, Grand Entry ceremony. WHEN: Noon - 2 PM
WHERE: Wagner Natural Area west of Edmonton
WHAT: The yellow lady slipper orchids will be in bloom and there are other plants and animals that call this fen home.
EQUIPMENT: Macro lens recommended for tiny plants and insects, tripod, camp stool, waterproof footwear.
COST: Free

Sun May 26, 2024 - Outing to Lamont County Ukrainian Churches (10:30 AM - 4:30 PM)
WHEN: 10:30 AM - 4:30 PM
WHERE: All day photographic tour to 6 Ukrainian churches near Redwater, Smoky Lake, Andrew and Mundare. Participants can visit as many of the sites as they like. All IACC members welcome and will need to arrange their own transportation or carpool. This outing is arranged by the club's Landscape SIG group.
LUNCH: Bring a picnic lunch and lawn chair or there is fast food available at the Esso station in Redwater.
COST: Free
